Dangote Refinery Targets 700,000 bpd Output by 2026 After Maintenance Shutdown

Dangote Refinery in Nigeria has initiated a maintenance shutdown to improve its core petrol production unit, aiming to achieve a production output of 700,000 barrels per day by early 2026. This move is part of the refinery's plan to increase its operational stability and unlock higher output capacity.

The maintenance activities, including the shutdown of the residue fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) and crude distillation unit (CDU), are expected to address operational bottlenecks and enhance the refinery's capacity to 700,000 barrels per day. The refinery's operations have already impacted Nigeria's downstream landscape by reducing petrol imports by 60%, thereby strengthening the country's fuel self-sufficiency drive.
