Dangote Refinery Halts Fuel Sales to Unregistered Marketers, Implements New Delivery Rule

Dangote Refinery has suspended fuel sales to unregistered marketers and introduced a new delivery rule effective September 18, 2025. The refinery stopped customers from picking fuel directly at the facility, citing the need for registration.

This decision follows a dispute with the Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers and the Depot and Petroleum Product Marketers Association of Nigeria. Dangote Refinery aims to streamline fuel distribution through its fleet to reduce costs.

The refinery warned that payments related to active Product Fulfilment Instructions (PFIs) made after the suspension date would not be accepted. The move aims to ensure compliance and efficient fuel supply operations amidst ongoing challenges in the petroleum sector.
