Bashir Ahmad Denies 16 Votes in Rigged APC Primary

Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has refuted claims that he received only 16 votes in the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Gaya/Ajingi/Albasu Federal Constituency in Kano. Ahmad alleged that the primary was rigged and stated that he possesses verifiable evidence, including videos, to support his claims.

He emphasized that the reported vote count does not accurately reflect the election's legitimacy. Ahmad's comments were made in response to a social media exchange with Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, who had referenced the alleged vote count in a post.

Ahmad indicated that he would disclose more details about the primary at an appropriate time. The exchange also touched on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's conversation with Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding the unfreezing of Osun State's government account by the EFCC.
