Davido pays homage to late singer, Sound Sultan

Afrobeats artist Davido recently paid tribute to the late singer Sound Sultan in a music video for the hit song "10 Kilo." The video, directed by Director Pink, featured a scene with a backdrop of Sound Sultan's picture, with a model dancing in front of a banner that read "Davido 10 Kilo." This gesture was in honor of a woman, similar to the lyrics of Sound Sultan's popular song "Orobo." Sound Sultan, who passed away from cancer in July 2021, was a pioneer of modern Afrobeats music and had hits like "Jagbantis," "Natural Something," and "Ole." Since his death, various Nigerian artists, including 2Face, Burna Boy, and Sean Tizzle, have paid tribute to his legacy, recognizing his contribution to popularizing the genre.
