Davido Responds to Uncle Governor Adeleke's Campaign Role
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has responded to the appointment of his uncle, Governor Adeleke, as the coordinator for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Osun State. This appointment is significant because Governor Adeleke is affiliated with the Accord Party, contrasting with the APC, which is backing Tinubu’s campaign.
Following the announcement, a video surfaced of Governor Adeleke dancing and singing on his Instagram Story. The revised APC Presidential Campaign Council list includes various political figures, such as Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The campaign council is set to be inaugurated on October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa. Davido's previous comments during the August 2026 Osun governorship election, where he stated he would never support the APC and had no preferred presidential candidate for the upcoming elections, add complexity to the situation.
Additionally, Davido recently criticized Monday Okpebholo over a tweet related to the governor.
