Sanwo-Olu's Education Investment Transforms Lagos Schools

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration in Lagos State is focused on transforming the education sector as a key part of its development agenda. The government has increased budgetary allocations for education, emphasizing the importance of basic education as the foundation of the educational system.

Significant initiatives include the establishment of 15 new public schools in underserved communities and the rehabilitation of 47 existing schools by 2026. The administration has also constructed 1,416 new classrooms and distributed 223,000 pieces of furniture to reduce overcrowding and improve learning environments.

A flagship project, the Tolu School Complex in Ajegunle, aims to create a modern educational hub. Additionally, 2,768 teachers have been recruited to improve the student-teacher ratio, and various professional development programs have been initiated.

The government is also integrating digital learning tools into the curriculum to prepare students for the 21st-century economy, with notable achievements such as securing third place in Africa at the World Robot Olympiad.
