Defense Minister Criticizes Wike for Confronting Naval Officer Despite Military Warnings

Nigerian Defense Minister Bello Matawalle criticized FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for directly confronting a naval officer, Lt. Commander Yerima, regarding a land dispute in Abuja.

Matawalle emphasized the need for government officials to respect the military hierarchy and avoid direct confrontations with military personnel. He stated that the matter should be handled through formal channels and not by personal engagement.

Wike was advised to consult the Defense Ministry rather than taking matters into his own hands.
