Delta Governor Calls for Economic Diversification at Summit

On Tuesday, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori stated that the state can no longer rely solely on oil revenue, emphasizing the importance of diversifying the economy. Speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026 in Asaba, he encouraged local and foreign investors to explore the vast opportunities in critical sectors.

The summit included discussions on agriculture, energy, transport infrastructure, solid minerals, and the digital economy, showcasing Delta State's untapped investment potential. Oborevwori highlighted the need for strategic investments to create jobs and improve the quality of life for residents.

He noted that the summit was designed as a private sector-driven initiative aimed at connecting investors with viable business opportunities. The governor also mentioned that the state government is committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses through supportive policies and infrastructure improvements.
