Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Democracy in Nigeria

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reiterated his firm commitment to sustaining democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria during an inter-faith breakfast meeting. He emphasized that his administration will uphold the principles of good governance and ensure that democracy thrives.

Tinubu expressed confidence in the ability of Nigerians to participate in governance at various levels, highlighting the importance of free and fair elections. He addressed concerns raised by Yusuf Dantal, the chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), regarding the inclusion of the National Identification Number (NIN) in voter registration processes.

Dantal urged Tinubu to reconsider the requirement, which he believes disenfranchises eligible voters. Additionally, Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda commended Tinubu for his strong leadership and management of Nigeria's diverse resources.

The meeting also served as a platform to discuss the upcoming premiere of a film titled "Unbroken Democracy," which reflects on Nigeria's 26-year democratic journey.
