Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu Pledges APC Takeover in 2027 Abia Governorship Election

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, has vowed to defeat Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 Abia Governorship election. Kalu, speaking at a gathering in Abia, declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take control of the state from the Labour Party in 2027.

He emphasized the need for Abia to be integrated into the national political mainstream to benefit fully from federal opportunities. Kalu also revealed plans by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to establish a seaport in the South East to boost trade and commerce.

He criticized the Abia State Government for alleged underperformance despite receiving significant funds from the Federal Government monthly.
