Nigeria's Gas Output Surges 11% in 2025, Driven by Domestic Deliveries and Infrastructure Investments

Nigeria's gas output surged by 11% in 2025, reaching an average of 7.61 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCF/D), attributed to renewed government focus, infrastructure investments, and improved regulatory oversight. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) reported a notable increase in domestic gas consumption, with a 27.4% rise in total production and a 25.9% increase in domestic deliveries compared to 2024.

This growth reflects the country's commitment to prioritizing local gas supply for power generation, industrial use, and residential consumption.
