DHQ Probes Soldiers Over Withdrawal Before Kebbi School Abduction

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) is conducting a full-scale investigation into the abrupt withdrawal of military personnel before the abduction of 26 schoolgirls in Kebbi State. Soldiers deployed at the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga Danko Wasagu were called to Abuja for interrogation to ascertain the reason for the security post being vacated shortly before the attack.

Kebbi State government is seeking clarification from Abuja, particularly regarding the authorization for the withdrawal. Governor Nasir Idri expressed concern over the incident, stating that the state had received prior intelligence warnings of a possible attack.

The investigation aims to hold accountable anyone found responsible for the security lapse.
