DHQ Clarifies Border Incident: Vigilantes Mistakenly Fire on Nigerien Soldiers

Maj Gen Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, issued a statement assuring the public that the situation was swiftly resolved through engagement with Nigerien authorities. The incident highlighted the importance of prior liaison between security forces to prevent misunderstandings along the border.

A joint border security meeting was convened to enhance communication and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
