Atletico Madrid Reaches Copa del Rey Final, Simeone Praises Barca

Diego Simeone, the current coach of Atletico Madrid, praised the brilliance of FC Barcelona following Atletico's advancement to the Copa del Rey final. Atletico Madrid secured their place in the final with a 4-3 aggregate victory over Barcelona.

In the second leg, held on March 3, Barcelona won 3-0, with Marc Bernal opening the scoring and Raphinha converting a penalty. However, this win was insufficient to overturn the damage from the first leg, where Atletico had won 4-0 at Wanda Metropolitano.

Simeone acknowledged the pressure his team faced in the return leg but commended their resilience in holding firm to secure the final spot. Atletico Madrid will face either Real Sociedad or Athletic Bilbao in the final.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is set to play Newcastle United in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
