EFCC Investigates Jerry Eze, No Wrongdoing Found

Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), disclosed that the agency investigated Jerry Eze, the founder of the Stream Join International, for alleged fraud and money laundering. This investigation lasted six months and was triggered by an intelligence report regarding unusual inflows of foreign currency into Eze's domiciliary account.

During a business grant award ceremony in Abuja, Bawa stated that the commission found no evidence of wrongdoing against Eze. His remarks were met with applause from attendees, including Eze, who acknowledged Bawa's commendation.

Bawa noted that the EFCC's role extends beyond investigating financial crimes, highlighting the need for individuals to demonstrate integrity. He stressed the importance of monitoring financial activities to prevent corruption, particularly within religious institutions, and urged clerics to uphold integrity in their places of worship rather than engaging in illicit activities.
