Doro Advocates Unified System for Poverty Relief Tracking

Dr. Bernard M. Doro, the Federal Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, has called for a comprehensive 'One Humanitarian' system to effectively track the results of poverty relief efforts in Nigeria.

Speaking in Kwara State, he emphasized the need for transparency and data-driven approaches in social investment programs. Doro reported that the humanitarian program has successfully reached a significant number of households across multiple phases, with the first tranche supporting 183,186 households and the second tranche aiding 139,812 households.

A total of 852 households benefited from the three tranches, amounting to a total disbursement of 11,482,020,000.00 Naira. He stressed the importance of linking interventions directly to the national poverty exit strategy and ensuring that all efforts contribute to a defined pathway out of poverty.

Dr. Mariam Nnafati Imam, the Kwara State Commissioner for Social Development, also expressed support for vulnerable groups, including orphans and persons with disabilities, and highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve living conditions across the state.
