DR Congo Warns NFF Over FIFA Petition on World Cup Eligibility

The DR Congo Football Federation has warned the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over a FIFA petition alleging the use of ineligible players during the 2026 World Cup playoff match. The NFF filed a petition with FIFA after losing to DR Congo in a penalty shootout, claiming administrative maneuvers by Nigeria.

The petition alleges that several Congolese players recently switched national allegiances without completing the required process. The NFF argues that the players hold European passports, including French, Dutch, and British documents.

However, DR Congo insists that Nigeria's protest should not undermine FIFA's process of ensuring fair play.
