D’Tigers Depart for Angola with Eyes on 2025 Afrobasket Trophy

Nigeria's senior men's basketball team, D'Tigers, departed for Angola with hopes of winning the 2025 Men's Afrobasket Championship. The tournament is set to begin on August 12 and will run until August 24, with Nigeria drawn in Group B alongside Tunisia, Cameroon, and Madagascar.

NBA star Josh Okogie, who recently signed with the Houston Rockets, will make his return to the national team after a five-year absence. Other key players like Caleb Agada, Mike Nuga, and Ike Nwamu have also been called up to reinforce the squad.

The team is determined to bring home the championship trophy, with the support of President Bola Tinubu's administration offering incentives to motivate the players. The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon Bukola Olopade, has urged the players to give their all and bring the trophy home, providing support and good wishes for their success.
