Edo PDP Crisis Deepens as Wike's Loyalists Elect Parallel State Executive

The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has escalated as loyalists of Minister Nyesom Wike elected a parallel state executive led by Nosa Ogieva. The Legacy Group, comprising Ogieva and 13 others, was inaugurated following the State Congress where 11 executive positions were returned unopposed.

Ogieva vowed to rebuild and reposition the PDP in Edo, accusing former Governor Godwin Obaseki of causing division within the party. The group aims to restore unity and strengthen the party's electoral base to make it a winning force in the state.
