EFCC Declares Yahaya Bello Innocent in ₦80.2bn Trial Case Amid Public Debate

The EFCC has clarified that former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is innocent in the ongoing ₦80.2 billion trial case, emphasizing that he remains innocent until a final court verdict. Bello is facing prosecution for alleged mismanagement of state funds, with Justice Emeka Nwite presiding over the case in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

EFCC's Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwujaren, highlighted that the commission's role is to prosecute diligently without interference, ensuring a fair trial process. Bello's political ambitions are not affected by the case, as he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
