Nigeria Police Appoints SP Ikwen to Lead Anti-Cultism Campaign

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of SP Orvenonn Ikwen as the new National Coordinator for the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Nigeria. Ikwen, a specialist in artificial intelligence and data science, will lead efforts to prevent cultism and curb social vices through technology-enabled community policing.

She brings expertise in technology-driven behavior change and community engagement. The appointment aims to enhance nationwide outreach, especially in schools and youth platforms, to address issues like cultism, drug abuse, cyber vulnerabilities, and gender-based violence.
