Man Faces Court for Alleged N3.8 Million Fraud in Ekiti

In Ado-Ekiti, a man was arraigned for allegedly committing fraud by converting N3,800,000 belonging to Mr. Rotimi Ojumola on June 2026 at approximately 10:00 hours. The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, stated that this act was contrary to Section 329(3) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.

Awe, requested bail, assuring the court of the defendant's commitment to not abscond and that the involved vehicle, a RAV 4, would be presented at the court premises. However, the prosecutor opposed the bail application, citing that the defendant had been tracked prior to his court appearance and might mismanage the bail conditions.

Chief Magistrate Mr. Abayomi Adeosun ruled to grant bail at N200,000 with two sureties of the same amount and ordered that the vehicle be parked at the court premises. The case is set for hearing on October 30, 2026.
