Baba-Ahmed Calls for Judicial Review of El-Rufai, Ribadu Claims

Baba-Ahmed, a former special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, has stated that the allegations surrounding former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu must undergo judicial scrutiny rather than being dismissed as mere political disagreements. This statement was made during an appearance on Channels Television's program "Political Paradigm," amidst a growing public rift between El-Rufai and Ribadu.

The allegations include claims that El-Rufai ordered the abduction of Ribadu at the Abuja airport and that Ribadu influenced investigations by anti-corruption agencies, which El-Rufai argues are politically motivated in light of potential ambitions for the 2031 presidential election. Baba-Ahmed expressed concern over the deteriorating relationship between the two men, describing the situation as troubling for Nigeria's political culture.

Ribadu has denied the allegations, labeling them as baseless and asserting that anti-corruption agencies operate independently.
