El-Rufai's Allies Shift Support to Governor Uba Sani

Several politicians who were previously associated with former Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai have publicly defected to support the incumbent governor, Uba Sani, as the 2027 general elections approach. Notable figures making this shift include Bashir Saidu, who served as Chief of Staff under El-Rufai, and Abdu Kwari, a former state commissioner and senator.

Additionally, Nasir Abdullahi Maikano, who led the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna State and represented Ungwan Sanusi Constituency for three terms, and Moukhtar Isa Hazo, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, have also joined Uba Sani's camp. Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, a former commissioner in Kaduna State, confirmed this collective decision.

The realignment is significant as these politicians were part of El-Rufai's political network, and their support for Uba Sani is expected to strengthen his position within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, indicating a broader reshuffling of political allegiances ahead of the upcoming elections.
