Bauchi Warns Against Fake Job Offers Amid Arrests

The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has issued a warning to the public regarding fake job offers after the arrest of Saleem Alhassan, popularly known as Jagaban, by the Bauchi State Police Command for alleged forgery. A statement released on Saturday by Awwal Waziri, the state civil service commissioner, highlighted that job offers in the state are not for sale.

The warning follows complaints about fraudsters circulating counterfeit appointment letters and extorting unsuspecting individuals between 500,000 to 750,000 naira. The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission reiterated that recruitment follows established procedures and that no fees are required at any stage of the appointment process.

The commission urged residents to avoid dealing with individuals or groups demanding money in exchange for employment opportunities and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The Bauchi State Police Command has been commended for its swift response in addressing these fraudulent activities.
