Maldon & Tiptree FC Owners Charged with Serious Crimes

Barri Drewitt Barlow, 57, and Scott Drewitt Barlow, 32, owners of Maldon & Tiptree FC, have been charged with multiple offenses, including rape, sexual assault, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation. The arrests occurred on Wednesday, with Essex police conducting searches at several properties linked to the couple, including the stadium of Maldon & Tiptree FC and their residence at Danbury.

The police also seized a Rolls Royce belonging to Barri Drewitt Barlow as part of the investigation. The couple is expected to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Barri Drewitt Barlow gained public attention in 1999 when his former partner recognized him as Britain's first openly gay father through surrogacy. Under their ownership, Maldon & Tiptree FC has seen promotion within the English football pyramid and signed notable football figures, including former West Ham United striker Freddie Sears and former Manchester City and Ipswich Town player Kevin Horlock, who was appointed as manager.
