Awkunanaw Monarchs Back Peter Mbah for 2027 Election

Seventeen traditional rulers from the Awkunanaw cultural zone in Enugu State, under the "Council/Forum of Ndi Igwe from the Awkunanaw extraction of Nkanu," have publicly endorsed Governor Peter Mbah for re-election in the 2027 Enugu State governorship election. This decision was announced in a communiqué issued on Monday after extensive discussions regarding the state's development.

The Council praised Mbah's leadership and initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, economic development, revenue generation, and transportation. They emphasized the importance of continuity in governance to allow ongoing programs and reforms to mature and yield their full benefits.

The traditional rulers expressed their collective support for Mbah, stating that their endorsement reflects the "collective will and resolution" of their Council. They believe that Mbah's re-election will further advance the state's development and consolidate existing programs.
