EPL: Arteta stole Zubimendi from Liverpool – Carragher

Former England defender Jamie Carragher has accused Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta of stealing Martin Zubimendi from Liverpool. The Spanish midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Reds last summer but ultimately stayed at Real Sociedad for another season before signing with Arsenal.

Carragher claimed that Arteta used his Basque roots to his advantage in convincing Zubimendi to join the Gunners. Speaking on Stick Football, Carragher stated, "I'm convinced Mikel Arteta definitely stole him from Liverpool.

He agreed to come to Liverpool, but at the last minute, he said he didn't want to come and wanted to come another year. Mikel Arteta is from the Basque area, no doubt about it." Zubimendi's signing adds to Arsenal's midfield options for the upcoming season.
