Brighton Denied Penalty in 1-0 Loss to Arsenal

Brighton's Mat Wieffer was involved in a controversial incident during the first half stoppage time when he was brought down in the box by Gabriel Martinelli. Referee Chris Kavanagh allowed play to continue, and Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzel, protested the decision to fourth official David Webb.

The Premier League's match incident panel, which included VAR official Michael Salisbury, reviewed the situation and determined that there was no clear and obvious error, resulting in a 4-1 vote against awarding a penalty. This marks the second time this season that Arsenal has avoided a VAR-awarded penalty, having previously escaped one in a December match against Everton FC.
