Guardiola Defends Manchester City Amid 115 Charges

Pep Guardiola, the former coach of Manchester City, has steadfastly defended the club during the Premier League's investigation into 115 alleged financial breaches, which began in February 2023. Guardiola has repeatedly asserted his trust in the club's leadership, specifically chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and chief executive Ferran Soriano, stating he believes they have acted properly.

He has called for a swift resolution to the case, emphasizing that the club has been unfairly judged before the conclusion of the legal process. Guardiola's defense dates back to May 2019 when he reacted angrily to allegations of receiving payments outside official channels.

Following UEFA's two-season Champions League ban in February 2020, Guardiola reiterated his support for the club, stating, "We cannot control; we support the club 100%." After the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned UEFA's ban in July 2020, he criticized the damage caused by the allegations. Guardiola's commitment to Manchester City remains firm, stating he would stay unless the club decided otherwise.
