Lineker Backs Arsenal for Premier League Title Despite Loss

Gary Lineker, the former England international and current sports pundit, expressed his belief that Arsenal will secure their first Premier League title in 22 years, despite suffering a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday. In this match held at the Etihad Stadium, Ryan Cherki opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 16th minute, followed by an equalizer from Arsenal's Kai Havertz just two minutes later.

However, Erling Haaland's goal in the 65th minute ultimately decided the match. Following this loss, Arsenal remains at the top of the Premier League table with 70 points from 33 matches, while Manchester City is in second place with 67 points from 32 games.

Lineker discussed Arsenal's title challenge on his podcast, noting that the race will likely come down to goal difference. He emphasized that Arsenal has shown resilience and will not "choke" this season, despite the recent setback.

Arsenal's next matches include a league game against Newcastle United and a UEFA Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on April 29.
