Equities Market Declines by N262 Billion on October 3

On October 3, the equities market continued its downward trend, losing N262 billion, which resulted in a market capitalization decrease from N163.104 trillion to N162.842 trillion, a decline of 0.16 percent. The NGX All Share Index fell by 413.40 basis points, closing at 250808.27 points, down from 251211.67 points the previous day.

Among the gainers, TransExpress and AIICO led with a 10 percent increase, closing at N2.97 and N4.18 per unit, respectively. Live stocks Feed gained 9.88 percent to close at N8.90, while Living Trust and ABC Transport saw increases of 9.87 percent and 9.63 percent, closing at N3.45 and N7.40 per unit, respectively.

Conversely, PZ Cusson topped the losers' chart with a 9.91 percent drop to N66.40, followed by Etranzact, which fell by 9.84 percent to N11.00. The volume of trades decreased by 480.85 million shares, representing a 46.32 percent drop, with a total of 557.15 million shares traded.

The total transaction value also fell by 48.60 percent to N27.57 billion across 53450 deals.
