Chelle Appoints Ozebagbe and Ortega as Olympic Eagles Assistants

On September 1, Eric Chelle, the head coach of Nigeria's Olympic football team, announced the appointment of Bright Ozebagbe and Deniran Ortega as his assistant coaches. This decision was communicated through a press statement by Kola Daniel, the Special Assistant on Media to the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

Chelle praised both coaches as among Nigeria's brightest young talents. Ozebagbe currently serves as the Technical Adviser for Ikorodu City in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), a team that narrowly missed a continental ticket last season.

Ortega is a UEFA-licensed coach who trained with the Scottish Football Association and is also an assistant coach for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles. Chelle has briefed the NSC leadership on his plans for the Olympic Eagles and is expected to open the team's training camp in Abuja soon, with Olympic qualifiers set to begin in November 2026.
