EU Ambassador Engages Peter Obi in Onitsha Visit

On Wednesday, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria visited Peter Obi at his residence in Onitsha, Anambra State. Obi, a prominent political figure and member of the African Democratic Congress, expressed that it was a privilege to host the diplomat, although he did not disclose the specifics of their discussions.

This visit comes in the context of political realignments as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections. Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, had previously resigned from the Labour Party in December to join the ADC, where he is considered a leading contender for the party's presidential ticket.

Last week, Obi also held a breakfast meeting in Abuja with foreign diplomats, including representatives from the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and France, reflecting ongoing engagement with the diplomatic community. He continues to enjoy significant support, particularly among young Nigerians.
