Ex-French President Sarkozy Freed Pending Appeal in Libya Funding Case

Nicolas Sarkozy, the ex-French President, was freed from prison in Paris following a conviction for criminal conspiracy involving alleged Libyan funding for his 2007 campaign. The court described the offense as serious, sentencing him to five years in prison, a fine, and a ban on public office.
