Nigerians Experience Improved Cash Availability Over Christmas Holidays

Nigerians celebrated the recent Christmas and New Year holidays without the usual frustration of cash scarcity, thanks to the Central Bank of Nigeria's efforts to improve cash distribution systems. A high-level committee chaired by CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso conducted a comprehensive review, leading to positive results such as reduced queues at ATMs and improved access to cash across major cities like Lagos, Abuja, and Maiduguri.

Bank customers like Nkiru Onyema and Stephen Abiodun reported faster cash withdrawals and minimal disruptions, indicating a successful intervention by the CBN.
