Hunter Killed in Explosion During Military Patrol in Gombi

On April 24, during a joint patrol in the Gombi local government area of Adamawa State, a local hunter was killed due to an explosion. The incident occurred around 10:15 AM while the hunter was part of a patrol team alongside troops from the 232 Battalion.

The patrol was operating in the Dogon Kuka area when the explosion happened as the hunter stepped on a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) tube that was inside the patrol vehicle. The hunter sustained severe fractures to his left leg and was immediately evacuated for medical treatment.

However, the injuries sustained from the explosion ultimately led to his death. This tragic event highlights the dangers faced by local hunters collaborating with military forces in the region.
