Arteta Updates on Injuries Before FA Cup Match vs Southampton

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta gave injury updates ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final against Southampton scheduled for Saturday. He confirmed that Noni Madueke, who sustained a knee injury during England's 1-1 friendly draw against Uruguay at Wembley last Friday, is not seriously injured and is expected to return within days.

Arteta noted that the situation is not as severe as initially feared, as Madueke had previously dealt with a knee issue six weeks ago. However, fellow England international Eberechi Eze will not participate in the match due to a calf issue he picked up prior to the Carabao Cup final.

Arteta could not specify the duration of Eze's absence but mentioned that the news regarding his fitness is not particularly encouraging. On a positive note, Martin Ødegaard and Jurrien Timber are fit to feature in the match against Southampton.
