FAAN Sees Revenue Growth in Cargo Operations Post Reforms

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has seen significant revenue growth in its cargo operations after implementing strategic reforms. These reforms, as reported by the Cargo Development Services Director Chinedu Ez, have led to improved efficiency and revenue performance.

Notable changes include relocating FAAN operational staff and revenue collection desks to cargo warehouses, alongside enhanced monitoring to prevent revenue leakages. Despite a decline in cargo throughput in 2025 compared to 2024, FAAN recorded higher revenue generation and improved collection efficiency during the period.

The reforms have particularly benefited Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Plc), Skyway Aviation Handling Company, and SAHCO Cargo Warehouse. FAAN is focused on further initiatives to consolidate gains and strengthen revenue assurance across the cargo value chain, including introducing a courier revenue optimization framework.
