Nigerian TikTok Influencer Jailed for Indecent Content - Social Media Regulation Tightens

Nigerian TikTok influencer, Ashiru Idris, known as Maiwushirya, has been sentenced to two weeks in a correctional facility for posting indecent content featuring a female dwarf celebrity, Yar Guda. The judgment was delivered by Justice Halima Wali following a series of controversial videos and images shared on social media.

The State Censorship Board hailed the decision as a necessary step in enforcing regulations on digital content. The sentencing has been celebrated by residents who believe it upholds cultural and Islamic values by curbing immoral content that could influence the youth negatively.
