FBI Offers $50,000 Reward for Somali Fugitive Sheikh

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Liban Abdulkadir Sheikh, a Somali national. Sheikh is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on November 27, 2002, at the Meadowbrook Apartments located on 146th Street, Southwest, in Lakewood, Washington.
The FBI alleges that Sheikh forcibly entered a residence and shot a man six times in the back of the head, resulting in his immediate death. He also allegedly shot the victim's girlfriend twice, injuring her in the back and leg, before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, Sheikh left Washington State and was later sighted in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A local arrest warrant was issued for him on November 27, 2002, by the Superior Court of Washington for Pierce County, charging him with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and first-degree burglary.
A federal arrest warrant was subsequently issued on December 9, 2002, by the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington in Tacoma for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. The FBI has classified Sheikh as a fugitive and warns that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
