FBNBank Senegal Becomes First Bank Partner for Dakar 2026

FBNBank Senegal, a subsidiary of FirstBank Group, has announced its role as the first Official Bank Partner for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will take place from 31 October to 13 November 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. This partnership underscores FirstBank Group's commitment to youth empowerment and sustainable development through sports.

The Games will feature approximately 2,700 athletes from over 200 countries, themed “Africa Welcomes, Dakar Celebrates.” Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Group, stated that investing in young people is vital for Africa's future. Ibrahima Wade, General Coordinator of the Organising Committee for Dakar 2026, emphasized the importance of African participation in the event.

FBNBank Senegal has been involved in the project from its inception, supporting infrastructure development, including financing for the Diamniadio Olympic Village, and providing operational banking services. Additionally, the bank has launched initiatives like the “Japandi” programme to facilitate free banking services for athletes and committee members.
