EFCC Arrests 20 for Electoral Fraud in FCT Elections

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the arrest of 20 suspects for electoral fraud related to the recently concluded Federal Capital Territory (FCT) local government elections. According to a press statement from EFCC's head of media and public relations, Dele Oyewale, the arrests took place across the territory and involved various electoral offenses, including vote buying, vote selling, and obstructing officials.

The total amount recovered from the suspects exceeded N17 million, specifically N17,218,700. Notably, N13,500,000 was seized from two suspects at a car park beside a polling booth in the Kwali local government area.

The arrests included two suspects from Abaji, nine from Gwagwalada, and four from Kuje, with four remaining suspects from Kwali. The arrested individuals will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
