FCT Civil Service Commission Launches Pre-Retirement Workshop

Emeka Ezeh, the chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, emphasized the commission's dedication to facilitating a smooth transition for retiring workers during a pre-retirement workshop held for staff set to retire between September and December 2024. Ezeh characterized retirement as a new beginning rather than an end.

This initiative was established following the approval of the Office of the Head of Service and the FCT Civil Service Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on March 18, 2024, under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Under the guidance of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, civil servants in the territory have regained hope, with opportunities to advance to roles such as Permanent Secretaries and Head of Service.

The workshop aims to equip approximately 100 retiring staff with essential skills and information for a successful transition, reinforcing that retirement signifies the start of a new life phase. The Acting Head of Civil Service, FCTA, Nancy Sabanti Nathan, confirmed the participation of these staff members in the inaugural training session.
