Nigeria Reveals Main Beneficiaries of Tinubu's Tax Reforms for the Poor

The Nigerian government has identified the primary beneficiaries of President Bola Tinubu's new tax reforms, as revealed by the Nigeria Revenue Service. The reforms, designed by the Executive Chairman Zacchaeus Adedeji, focus on benefiting the poor by not increasing taxes.

The new tax laws exempt 95% of low-income earners and completely exempt new levies. The reforms particularly target the poor by removing VAT on food items, which consume a significant portion of their disposable income.

Despite resistance and allegations of forgery surrounding the tax laws, President Tinubu insists on their implementation.
