Court Orders Fresh Trial for NDC Registration Case

The Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja vacated its earlier judgment concerning the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and ordered that the matter be heard afresh. The ruling, delivered by Justice Isah Dashen, stated that the previous judgment from December 10, 2025, would not stand, as it affected the interests of the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which had not been made a party to the proceedings despite claims regarding the logo.

Counsel for the PMP, C.S. Ekeocha, explained that the court's decision was to ensure that all necessary parties were included in the dispute.

The court directed that the claimant join all necessary parties to ensure a complete determination of the issues at hand. The judgment also reinstated the legal position that existed prior to the December 10, 2025 ruling, pending the final determination of the substantive suit.

Ekeocha emphasized that the court's action was to ensure fair hearing for all parties involved.
