Federal Ministry of Women Affairs Launches Performance Contracts

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has launched the Performance Management System (PMS) to improve accountability, transparency, and service delivery. The sensitization event took place at the Conference Room of the Permanent Secretary, attended by Directors, Heads of Departments, and key management staff.

Permanent Secretary Mrs. Esuabana Nko Asanye described the initiative as a critical milestone for fostering a performance-driven culture that delivers measurable results for Nigerians.

She explained that the PMS framework is designed to set realistic targets, monitor progress, and strengthen accountability through evidence-based performance appraisals, focusing on improvement rather than punishment. The signing of Performance Contracts signifies each department's commitment to achieving agreed results within specified timelines.

Mrs. Asanye urged officers to ensure performance targets are realistic, measurable, and linked to their responsibilities, while also promoting fairness and transparency in the appraisal process.
