Women-Led Firms Target Nigeria's 2025 Oil Licensing Round

The Women Energi Network (WIEN) is promoting the participation of female-owned firms in Nigeria's upcoming 2025 oil licensing round. Mr.

Eyono Fatayi-Williams, the president of WIEN, highlighted the importance of women's involvement in the oil and gas sector, particularly in oil exploration and production. The licensing round, conducted by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), will offer 50 oil and gas blocks, both onshore and offshore, to investors within and outside Nigeria.

Fatayi-Williams emphasized that women have proven capabilities and advantages in the industry and encouraged them to collaborate in the licensing process. He noted that the process is complex and requires understanding of commercial, technical, and fiscal requirements.

The initiative aims to showcase Nigeria's vast opportunities and boost hydrocarbon reserves while positioning women as strong competitors in the bidding process.
