Fenerbahce Targets Calvin Bassey for Summer Transfer

Fenerbahce has targeted Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey as their primary transfer objective ahead of the summer window. Aziz Yildirim, the president of Fenerbahce, has prioritized Bassey for the left center-back position, with the club also considering other players for various roles.

Bassey, who joined Fulham from Ajax in the summer of 2023, has made 100 appearances and scored four goals for the club. He was born to Italian-Nigerian parents and began his career at Leicester City before moving to Rangers, where he won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup.

Bassey is under contract with Fulham until 2027, with the club holding an option to extend his deal for an additional year. This contract situation may complicate negotiations as Fenerbahce seeks to secure his signature.

Yildirim has been involved with Fenerbahce for two decades, having served as president from February 1998 to June 2018.
