Bruno Fernandes Praises Ronaldo After Leading Portugal Victory

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, stated that Cristiano Ronaldo remains the greatest symbol of Portuguese football despite taking over the national team captaincy from him. This statement followed Portugal's 4-2 victory over Denmark in the Nations League on Thursday, after Ronaldo departed the national team camp due to a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo had been left out of Portugal's previous match against Norway, which they won 2-1. Fernandes, who created five chances and provided two assists in the match against Denmark, emphasized that Ronaldo's contributions to the national team are irreplaceable.

He also mentioned having spoken with Ronaldo about the situation. Despite concerns over his fitness due to a hip problem, Fernandes performed well, and Jesus noted an improvement in his game after halftime.

Jesus demanded more from Fernandes, who responded positively in the second half.
